Halo plain shoulder 005
Halo platinum ring. Exquisite halo plain shoulder platinum engagement ring with a .25 carat round brilliant centre stone. This ring has .06 carats of halo stones for a total carat weight of .31. The centre stone has been claw set and the surrounding halo stones have been micro claw set. The halo stones elegantly concentrate and amplify the sparkle and brilliance of reflected light flowing through the outstanding centre stone. This halo plain shoulder ring design has been popular for over a century and never loses its allure.
This halo plain shoulder ring is pictured in platinum but is also available in white gold, yellow gold, rose gold and palladium versions. We also stock this ring in both 9ct and 18ct gold.
The centre stone is available in colour variants from d to g and with clarity grades ranging from SI1 to VS1. The centre stone is fully certified.
The halo ring design has been around since Victorian times and really became popular in the roaring twenties. Increased affluence allowed customers to look for more elaborate and ornate engagement ring styles. The halo stones emphasise the clarity and cut of the main stone in the halo plain shoulder platinum ring. The design works well with different stone cuts, including the round brilliant (in this ring) but also with princess, oval and asscher stones.
Note on claw/micro claw settings
The claw setting on the main .25 carat stone is easily visible with the 4 large prongs visible to the naked eye. For the smaller stones on the shoulders micro prongs have been used which are slightly harder to see without a jewellers loupe or microscope. This design maximises the flow of light visible when you look at this beautiful ring side on. The advantage of claw set diamonds is that light reflection is maximised and the brilliance and lustre of the diamonds is emphasised.
